Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle
- Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle
In quantum mechanics, this is a limit on the precision with which the simultaneous position and momentum of a body or particle can be specified. In other words, there is a limit as to how precisely you can determine the location of a particle, such as an electron, and what direction it is moving. This is what makes many people question whether or not Star Trek's® © ™ transporters would ever work. They wonder if once taken apart, how accurately could a person's or thing's atoms be reassembled? Brain or muscle cells may not resemble their original form, causing brain damage or death, or in a worse case scenario it may create a politician or lawyer. Also called the Indeterminacy Principle.
